Ms. Moore

Born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Winton, NC. Ms. Moore was a student at Hertford County Public Schools and graduated from Hertford County High School. She went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work at Elizabeth City State University and was voted Miss Social Work by her peers during her senior year. Also, during that time, she was actively involved and advisor on a program titled S.A.V.E. (Students Against Violence Everywhere) and did her internship at River Road Middle School in Elizabeth City, NC. 

She returned home after college due to job availability. She began working at Albermarle Regional Public Library in Winton, NC during the summer and continued the job for several years as a Library Assistant, Children's Specialist before moving to a Cataloging and Acquisitions Technician position at Roanoke-Chowan Community College where she was actively involved and advisor of Roanoke-Chowan Community College Arts, Literacy and Entertainment Club for the Learning Resource Center. She later pursued her Master's Degree in Library Science at North Carolina Central University.  

She was the Media Coordinator for Ahoskie Elementary School for seven years. She has worked for the State of North Carolina in the Library/Media for nineteen years. She has led school activities and advocated for literacy with such programs as Battle of the Books, Book Fairs, Read Nights, Digital Literacy activities, Read Across America and more. In 2021, she was the #1 Top Video Screencastify Creator for the Hertford County Public Schools district. 

She joined the Hertford County High School staff in the summer of 2024. Since that time, she has received the 2025-2026 Hertford County High School Instructional Support Staff of the Year. The 2025-2026 Hertford County Public Schools Instructional Support Staff of the Year. Additionally, she is the Region 1 School Librarian of the Year 2025.

She feels like she is at home at HCHS, and she is a proud Hertford County "Bear". She looks forward to continuing her role as one of the Media Coordinators for Hertford County Public Schools.
